Well, not really a great quote. But the English-language press material provided by the Federation of German Industry attributes to their President Hans-Peter Keitel the line: “If the balance between the market and the state is right, and the elite from all the spheres of society—not just industry and politics—can be held up as examples of integrity, then we need not fear for the future of the social market economy.”
Hard to imagine the National Association of Manufacturers talking like that.
