"Canadian Indie Rock Supergroups Overreaching"

It seems to me that it’s a huge mistake for Canadian power-pop group The New Pornographers to release an entire new album with the global economy still mired in recession. Far smarter to stick to something simple like an ad jingle and then focus on jobs and the economy. But they decided to go with the album approach and there’s one song available for listening.

What’s more, they’re not the only ones! It’s true that Broken Social Scene is streamlining down to a six-member core but they’re releasing a new album too! It’s all hubris, I say. The aughts were a great decade for Canadian bands, but the backlash against this overreach is going to be tremendous.
