Van Jones Joining CAP

Portrait photo of an African-American man seated in front of a wood paneled wall. He has a bald head, glasses and a mustache, and is wearing a gray suit, blue shirt and red tie

Van Jones, who I understand is some kind of Communist and used to be the single most influential member of the Obama administration until Glenn Beck revealed his penchant for feasting on brains of cute children, is joining the Center for American Progress where he’ll be heading a “Green Opportunity Initiative.”

The idea, as I understand it, is that the focus is on ensuring that low-income communities and communities of color are treated fairly as America transforms to a clean energy economy. Transformation imposes costs on some opens up opportunities for others, and there’s a chance that restructuring our energy economy in a more sustainable way can also ameliorate some of the longstanding inequities in our economy.
