This morning I highlighted a chart from John Sides that contained a serious error. He now has a corrected version:
The analytic point holds, however. Self-identified conservatives are against “spending” but oppose cuts in all categories of spending except foreign aid. And foreign aid, ironically, is one of the elements of spending that actually has a constituency among a certain swathe of conservative elites (Michael Gerson, etc.).
