I don’t have any value-add commentary on the scandal engulfing David Paterson in New York—obviously the man has no future in politics and rightly so.

I will note a media angle here. As legacy media declines and the internet predominates, I’m extremely confident that national politics will continue to be covered as well—or even better—than it’s ever been before. And I think that really granularly local coverage will also continue to be excellent. But the sort of reporting from state capitals that the NY Times did to bring this to light is really in very serious danger.
