Vince Gray beat Adrian Fenty quite handily in the DC mayor’s race. Throughout the campaign he’s been cagy as to exactly what he wants to do differently so it’ll be interesting to see what happens.
It’s usually difficult to construct a coherent national narrative out of disparate state-level results. But O’Donnell’s win goes together nicely with Carl Paladino securing the New York gubernatorial election, and if Lamontagne manages to pull it out in New Hampshire we’ll have a journalistically convenient three-for-three. All that’s really left is to construct a narrative about how Vince Gray, too, is the DC municipal version of a tea party candidate.
