Hey gang, I’m just stepping through the door of my house and realize I should inform you about our new commenting system on which I’ll just quote Supreme Leader Faiz Shakir:
After longstanding and legitimate criticisms from many in our ThinkProgress community about the various inadequacies in our comments section, we are very excited to unveil a new commenting system today. We’re confident that the features of the new system provide our commenters with a better user experience.
You will now have four easy options to comment. Note: Your old log-in will no longer work. You must now sign on with your 1) Facebook username/password, 2) Twitter username/password, 3) an OpenID account (to learn more about OpenID, see here), or 4) a Disqus account, which you can establish here.
There are numerous features we’re excited about. At a most basic level, we will finally have threaded comments, which allows commenters to more easily respond to one other. Additionally, like the old system, commenters will be enabled to vote up comments that they like. And lastly, the new system will give the option for commenters to share more information about each other and with each other.
Hopefully this will work better than the problem-ridden system that preceeded it.
