"Zuccotti Park Cleanup Postponed, Occupation Continues"

Very nice to hear that the Bloomberg administration has backed away from threats to forcibly remove protestors from Zuccotti Park under pretense of cleaning. It was also very nice to see the Occupiers spend the previous 12 hours furiously cleaning the park to make it clear that the pretext is a mere pretext.

Meanwhile, though I doubt N+1 has a ton of readers on the NYPD force, I did like this open letter to the police officers from Jeremy Kessler. There’s a substantial cultural gap between your typical cop and your typical Adbusters reader, and a natural void between the protestor temperament type and the policeman temperament type, but there’s also a meaningful political affinity between what the 99 Percent Movement stands for and the psychic and material interests of police officers.
