Appeals Court Denies NOM A New Hearing In Maine

The First Circuit Court of Appeals has denied the National Organization for Marriage’s request for a rehearing of its challenge of Maine’s political action committee disclosure laws. The court ruled against NOM last month, rejecting the organization’s dispute that Maine’s laws are unconstitutional. The actual disclosure of NOM’s donors in the 2009 fight to ban same-sex marriage remain unsettled.
