The Los Angeles Times reports that presidential contender Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) recently thanked a caller on a radio show who said he’d rather vote for infamous serial killer Charles Manson over President Obama. “Hey, thank you for saying that,” she replied. The slip-up is just the latest in a series of blunders that have hobbled Bachmann’s campaign and sent her poll numbers spiraling downwards. Interestingly, this is not even the first serial killer-related gaffe Bachmann has been caught up in. In June, she told Fox News, “John Wayne was from Waterloo, Iowa. That’s the kind of spirit that I have, too.” The John Wayne from Waterloo is John Wayne Gacy, the notorious serial killer who murdered 33 teenage boys and young men.
