BREAKING: University of South Carolina On Lockdown After Shooting Incident

All buildings at the University of South Carolina are reportedly on lockdown after a shooting incident at the university’s public health school. According to The State, the school’s public health research building has been evacuated, and police are searching it floor by floor. Meanwhile, “[o]fficers in SWAT gear are armed with AR-15s, and they are moving everyone across the street from the school of public health.”

The State reports that “[t]he shooting was a murder-suicide, according to a law enforcement official close to the situation and someone who was evacuated from the building.” Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott also says that police do not believe that there is still an active shooter on the university campus.
