On Monday afternoon, Breitbart announced it was deleting an Islamophobic tweet that the site claimed did not meet its “editorial standards.”
We have deleted a tweet that did not meet our editorial standards.

The tweet in question was posted on Sunday night. It suggested that Muslims will some day abolish the Super Bowl.
But the notion that Breitbart’s editorial standards don’t permit bigoted content about Muslims is ridiculous, given other tweets that remain live:

Not to mention articles that are still up on Breitbart’s website:
Breitbart’s decision to take the unusual step of apologizing for a bigoted tweet comes as the site tries to regain its footing following the departure of Steve Bannon last month.
Bannon was ousted following a public feud with President Trump, which came on the heels of Breitbart going all-in on the failed U.S. Senate candidacy of alleged child molester Roy Moore.
