California Man Cites Corporate Personhood To Protest Carpool Lane Violation

A California driver who snuck into a carpool lane that requires two or more passengers in a vehicle claims he should not have to pay his ticket because “he had corporate incorporation papers in his car at the time and, he says, the state vehicle code views corporations as persons — therefore he and his corporation constituted a two-person carpool.” This is obviously an absurd legal argument, but, sadly no less absurd than the argument the Supreme Court’s conservative justices embraced in Citizens United.
