Carly Fiorina: ‘Unlike Another Woman…I Actually Love Spending Time With My Husband’

Carly Fiorina opened the undercard debate with a sexist joke aimed at Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.

“You know, I’m not a political insider. I haven’t spent my lifetime running for office. The truth is I have had and been blessed by a lot of opportunity to do a lot of things in my life,” Fiorina said. “And unlike another woman in this race, I actually love spending time with my husband.”

Fiorina has framed much of her campaign as a rebuttal to Democrats’ claims that Republicans are waging a “war on women.” She’s also accused Clinton of playing “the woman card.”

Other Republican candidates have also taken shots at the Clintons’ marriage recently. Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), who boycotted the undercard debate after he and Fiorina were dropped from the main stage, also took a shot at Clinton’s personal life recently. In a radio interview, Paul argued former President Bill Clinton’s sex life should be fair game in the campaign because Hillary Clinton had recently spoken out about the need to believe sexual assault survivors. “Hillary Clinton has brought this on herself,” he said. Donald Trump also said it’s “open season” on the former president’s sex life because he is out on the campaign trail for his wife.
