Cheney’s counsel resigns.

Today is the last day on the job for Shannen Coffin, Vice President Cheney’s counsel. Coffin joined Cheney’s team in 2005 to replace David Addington. Until mid-2004, Coffin served in the Justice Department and won favor with Cheney when he successfully defended the vice president from having to publicly release documents related to his energy task force.” In 2006, Coffin “told the Secret Service in September to eliminate data on who visited Cheney at his official residence.”
