On Fox News Thursday, anchor Chris Wallace called Christine Blasey Ford’s testimony “extremely emotional, extremely raw, and extremely credible” and claimed the format is a “disaster” for Republicans.

The comment came during a break in the testimony after Dr. Ford had been questioned for over two hours about her allegation that Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh attempted to rape her when they were both in high school.
Many observers, including Wallace, observed that it would be difficult for anyone, Republicans and supporters of President Trump included, to doubt Ford’s claims after watching her testimony. Ford appeared emotional and honest, observers noted, while the prosecutor questioning her came off as awkward and “cruel.”
Wallace also recognized the effect the hearing was having on women across the country.

Wallace is a registered Democrat, although he claims he registered with the party because there’s essentially only one party with power in Washington, D.C.
Fox News, Trump’s favorite network, appeared more skeptical of Ford’s claims on its website Thursday afternoon. The top headline on the website called Ford’s testimony dramatic, but added that she “can’t say who paid for her polygraph.” The prosecutor questioning Ford on behalf of the GOP senators has repeatedly asked her about her polygraph test, appearing to challenge its veracity.
