Dodd, Murray call on HUD’s Alphonso Jackson to resign.

Sens. Chris Dodd (D-CT) and Patty Murray (D-WA) called on Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Alphonso Jackson to resign today. Dodd cited Jackson’s “repeated failure” to answer questions about a variety of HUD scandals:

I do not believe Secretary Jackson is capable of effectively carrying out his responsibilities and the responsibilities of the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Now, more than ever, we need a HUD secretary who can devote his full energy to solving our nation’s housing crisis.

Dodd and Murray join Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ) and Reps. Henry Waxman (D-CA) and Barney Frank (D-MA), who have all called on Jackson to resign in the past. For more on Jackson, go HERE.
