Egyptians Prepare For One Year Anniversary Of Mubarak’s Fall

Thousands marched to Cairo’s Tahrir Square today in advance of the upcoming anniversary of the protests which overthrew Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak. Activists will observe a week of “mourning and anger,” continuing their calls for an end to the military rule which protesters say has perpetuated the authoritarian system of the Mubarak government. Protesters on Friday demanded justice and retribution for the more than 800 people killed during the revolt and the 100 people killed in clashes with security forces since Mubarak’s fall last winter.
