Eight Years Later

CAPAF has a new memo asking if you’re better off than you were eight years ago. Here’s a chart:

The key to this is the wedge between the growth in corporate profits (strong!) and the growth in household income (negative!) which drives the growth in the poverty rate and the number of children in poverty, two indicators that, in turn, lead to all manner of other social ills.
