Federal Court Strikes Down Louisiana Anti-Abortion Law

Last week, a federal district court struck down an unconstitutional Louisiana state law that allowed legal actions against doctors who perform abortions, regardless of whether the doctors committed any fault or negligence whatsoever in performing the procedure. The decision will appeal to the notoriously conservative Fifth Circuit, so there are no guarantees that the appeals court judges will be equally inclined to follow binding Supreme Court precedents.
