Republicans who signed an anti-tax pledge from right-wing activist Grover Norquist have steadfastly prevented any compromise in congressional budget negotiations. As the Bush tax cuts come up for debate later this year and some Republicans are beginning to waver on the pledge, Norquist is on Capitol Hill today to privately lobby GOP congressmen and aides and try to ensure they don’t allow any additional government revenue.
