Iran’s Fars news agency reports an unmanned U.S. spy drone was shot down along the country’s eastern border. “Iran’s army has downed an intruding RQ-170 American drone in eastern Iran,” Iran’s Arabic-language Al Alam state television network quoted an unnamed source as saying. “The spy drone, which has been downed with little damage, was seized by the armed forces.” In July, Iran claimed to have shot down a U.S. spy drone but the incident was denied by U.S. officials. Iran’s Revolutionary Guard later denied the report.
