A lesbian couple in Michigan have filed a suit to overturn the state’s ban on adoption by unmarried couples. April DeBoer and Jayne Rowse are raising three infant children together, but under Michigan law, they can not obtain guardianship for each other’s children. The suit names Gov. Rick Snyder (R) as one of the defendants, who has come under fire for refusing to speak with LGBT press outlets about the anti-gay agenda he has been promoting. Last month, he signed a ban on domestic partner benefits for all public employees.
