North Carolina Governor: Anti-Gay Amendment Is ‘Dangerous For Women’

Momentum is building against North Carolina’s discriminatory constitutional amendment, which would ban same-sex marriage, civil unions, and domestic partnerships. Yesterday, Gov. Bev Perdue (D) joined Republicans, conservatives, and religious leaders in speaking out against the measure, warning in a new video that the amendment could prove “dangerous for women.” “There is a real risk that some laws we have on the books now to protect the victims of domestic violence may no longer apply to many women in the state,” she says.
