O’Reilly: Rove Indictment Would Be “Bad For the Country”

Fox News anchor Bill O’Reilly finds the ongoing CIA leak scandal deeply troubling.

Of course, what bothers O’Reilly isn’t that the top adviser to the President of the United States may have outed a CIA operative to punish a whistleblower. It’s that that top advisor may be held accountable. From last night’s O’Reilly Factor with Juan Williams and William Kristol:

O’REILLY: What about Karl Rove, Juan? If he is indicted, I just don’t know what’s going to happen to the country. I don’t want chaos in the executive branch.

Later in the segment, O’Reilly took it a step further:

KRISTOL: On Karl Rove, I very much want to agree with you, Bill. I am worried about what happens to the administration if Rove is indicted. I think it’s the criminalization of politics that’s really gotten totally out of hand.

O’REILLY: You know, it’s just bad for the country.

O’Reilly has it wrong. The problem isn’t the “criminalization of politics.” It’s the criminals in politics.
