Poll: 62 Percent of Americans Support Path To Citizenship

A new Politico/George Washington University poll finds there is a growing consensus for a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants. A conclusive majority of 62 percent support a proposal that allows undocumented immigrants to earn citizenship over several years. Republicans have also grown more comfortable with a path to citizenship, with an increase in support from 45 percent to 49 percent. After decisively losing the Latino vote in November, Republican legislators have toned down their anti-immigrant rhetoric and are even embracing certain reforms.
