POLL: Majority In Hawaii Continues To Support Marriage Equality

A new QMark poll shows that Hawaii voters support marriage equality by a 23 point margin, with 54 percent expressing favor and only 31 percent standing opposed. Polls have found similar results in the past, though by narrower margins, such as January’s 55–37 result.

Despite support among lawmakers, marriage equality legislation did not come up for a vote this year as was expected. Unfortunately, there was not two-thirds support available to call a special session this summer, so the legislation will not be considered again until 2014.
