R.I.P. Clarence Clemons

I’m just incredibly sad to hear of the untimely passing of the E Street Band’s Clarence Clemons, after complications from a stroke. I’ve always felt blessed that I got to see him perform, even if it was at a point when he needed to sit for much of the stage show. Suddenly, “riding out tonight to chase the Promised Land” has a whole new meaning:

If nothing else, I’m glad he went out at a moment when Lady Gaga had the good sense and judgement to introduce him to a new generation of fans. So listen to “Born to Run,” pour one out to “Edge of Glory,” and remember to be excellent to each other:
