I finally found a use for Google Buzz — Spencer Ackerman’s feed alerted me to the hilarious sidebar, repeated to the right, that you can find on the Senate Finance Committee’s website.
Yes, you read that right, it’s “Netscape Navigator 4.x or Internet Explorer 4.” Netscape 4 was, of course, a fine product in its day. But its day was 1997–98. Elsewhere we learn that the site “is maintained by Mark Blair and Geoffrey Burrell.” They might want to consider hiring some new Web designers.
Per Steve LaBonne the Senate as a whole is optimized for 19th Century ideas about representative government, so arguably the Finance Committee is ahead of the curve. On the other hand, Foreign Relations and Banking definitely have slick, modern sites.
