State Sen. Scott Beason (R), who sponsored Alabama’s harmful immigration law HB 56, announced today that he is running against Rep. Spencer Bachus (R-AL) in the GOP primary for Bachus’ District 6 House seat. Bachus, the House Financial Services Committee chairman, has served in Congress since 1992. On his campaign site, Beason promotes his extreme immigration stances and sponsorship of anti-immigrant bills in the Alabama legislature.
