Back in May, I began a series, “Almost everything you know about climate change solutions is outdated.” It’s now in its fifth month because the clean energy revolution keeps making big advances in real time that are ignored or misreported by major media outlets like the New York Times.

Fortunately, some of the most sophisticated and credible energy and financial institutions have been analyzing the trend in detail. These include Bloomberg New Energy Finance (BNEF), the International Energy Agency, and Goldman Sachs to name but three.

Now we have enough real-world data and commercial projects to start to tell the entire story. Earlier this month, I put together the best charts I’ve found for a talk at the Tim Wirth Chair Sustainability Awards Luncheon in Denver. Wirth is a leading climate hawk from his days as a Senator (D-CO) to being the first Undersecretary for Global Affairs in the mid-1990s and lead U.S. climate negotiator, and then as President of the United Nations Foundation for 15 years.
