Every day, it seemed like the right-wing media came up with a new number for how many jobs the dangerous Keystone XL tar sands pipeline could create, the main argument used for forcing the heartland to bear the risk of pumping toxic foreign oil to Texas refineries for foreign export. A new video from Media Matters shows that wasn’t just an impression — they found Fox News, the Fox Business Network, and Rush Limbaugh claimed the pipeline would generate anywhere from 2,200 to 1 million(!) jobs, even though a TransCanada official put the estimate in the hundreds.
